Boolumba Creek Walk (10.6km Return)

Join us 08:00AM Saturday 18 April 2020 at Boolumba Creek Day Use Area, Booloumba Creek Road, off Maleny Kenilworth Road (approximately 1.5hrs drive north of Brisbane). Access to the Day Use Area is by 4WD only.

LOCATION: Conondale Great Walk
MEETING POINT:  Boolumba Creek Day Use Area 08:00AM
DIFFICULTY: Easy-Moderate Difficulty, due to its length.

*Suitable for children with moderate fitness level

DETAILS: This walk is part of the Conondale Great Walk and follows Booloomba Creek. You walk through subtropical rainforest and wet sclerophyll forest. There is abundant birdlife along the path as well as goannas and skinks. The cascades is a great place to have a swim after the long walk to get there. You can also take a couple of side tracks along the way to the Strangler Cairn and the gold mine. 

What you should bring:

Small day pack
- 3L of water in bottles or a bladder 
- A snack for morning tea
- Hat and sunscreen
- Insect repellant
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Any medications
- Phone or camera
- Wet weather jacket if the forecast is for light rain
- Long pants and gaiters are recommended

- Swimmers are optional

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:

There are 3 small creek crossings within 1.5kms of the carpark. In the event of rain prior to the walk please check the parks.des.qld.gov.au website or the Support Crew Facebook Page for any road or park closures.
